Hey @Steve Stine Guitar Lessons thanks so much for this - as much as I have a basic understanding of modes and so on I have always struggled to be able to remember the 'basic 3-per-string' pattern of all 7 of them but the 'repeating patterns' idea (from 3 minutes onward in the video) has completely opened up the door in my mind to being able to jump onto the different modal 'scales'. Hi Steve, I went thru ur other video on modes which has helped me a bit in understanding modes. But confusion are still there as I watched this video. E. G if in need to play a lydian or mixolydian in c scale then i can't understand how to play them in positions either on spread position or closed position starting from the thick e string ? Hope Iam able to put across my question well.

Is the hypothetical 7th string a B, the 5th of E, as E is the 4th of B?
