LORDS OF DOGTOWN (2005) in 2023 | Must-See Then & Now

Показать описание
Lords of Dogtown is a film about the legendary Z-Boys skateboarders that redefined skate culture in the '70s. Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, Jay Adams, and the rest of the team made massive impact on skateboarding that still resonates today.

Lords of Dogtown was filmed entirely in the greater Los Angeles area, mainly San Pedro, Santa Monica, and Venice Beach. The filmmakers used many of the true-to-life locations along with new ones and we feature as many as we could find in this video tour!

On this trip, I'm joined by the great Rob On Location and don't miss the cameos from Scott on Tape and Reel to Real Locations (I'll be impressed if you catch those!).

Great job on this episode!!! You do an amazing job on all your episodes. That last scene you shared of them in the parking lot across from The Cadillac Hotel in Venice Beach was also where the first basketball scene in White Men Can’t Jump was filmed.

One of the best videos I've seen that lined up shots, shot for shot. Definitely deserves a thumbs up.

That was amazing. So beautifully edited and thorough. I can’t wait to go to some of these locations myself. I absolutely love this movie. Thank you for the shout out! ❤

I got to see when they filmed some scenes in Imperial Beach and got to meet actor Victor Rasuk, who plays Tony. I could have met Heath Ledger, but a crew member said he had left set a couple of minutes before I got there.

Great video, one of my favourite movies and the reason I went to Venice beach in 2018. I just spent Christmas there this year, on my return I changed plane at Vegas and bumped into Kyle Walsh ! I'm gona crack the code and move out to LA

That’s so cool! I went to Bandini Elementary in the early 90s and never knew that’s where they filmed later

Great video. They name drop the beach I learned to boogie board at. In the scene where the workers are loading up the van to go surf, they say Rincon A.K.A Bates Beach

I absolutely LOVE that you got the bug again‼️ Once a skater... (btw - you snapped that heelflip really nicely! You're not Neen yet but you're ahead of most in the style depot brotha). Love the channel and you and 80's Life (also a skater from waaay back) should totally pull the colab💯

@32:22 that is a photo of Steve Cathey. He wasn't a Z-boy. Lots of people mistakenly post it as Jay Adams, but is G&S Teamrider Steve Cathey, the photo used by Skateboarder Magazine eventually became the logo for Sector 9
