Attach a wrist band to the transmitter or something, this way if you drop it you're stuck with the propeller at full throttle.

There I was thinking you were just a really talented engineer, only to find you're also a total nutter. 👌💪👍💯

Aw... That beautiful snow... I wish we had that here in Germany, at least for Christmas.

May I recommend that you put the throttle control on the spring loaded side of the transmitter? That way of you drop it or something it will return to zero throttle :)

Awesome video! You should definitely see how that performs on snow off the road, and see how fast you can go

If you drop the transmitter you're basically SOL. I think it would be slightly safer ditching the radio system altogether and using a wired servo tester plugged direct to the ESC as the throttle control in your hand (have to solder extension wires).

that motor and prop on 12s makes 36 pounds thrust, I know this because a friend has a plane with this setup and the motor is under propped, but this looks like a blast except if you wipe out with a lawnmower mounted to you back

Jesus that motor is GIANT! And where in Cali? I'm from Sacramento.

3:11 can hear your heat beat.. also you should use two EDF's mounted above your shoulders.

This would be perfect in a Warren Miller movie!

Samm, use an impeller blower like you did with your RC airplane for your backpack. It could be used in population dense areas without being a hazard.

Mount one on each end of the motor/both sides of the backpack.

You're crazy that's an amazing use of the equipment.

Use a three bladed prop. They're more balanced when handling variable yaw axis such as you moving side-to-side.

Awesome, Samm! I hope you are taking adequate safety precautions. Remember, some of us oldies live vicariously through watching your videos :) BTW, Turn on GPS logging on your smartphone and see what top speed you're getting. Also, if you hunker down on the skis and allow more "open" air in front of the prop, you may get higher speed/longer runs/cooler hardware. And... you do not need a transmitter, just a servo tester should be enough for speed control, right?

Didn't you think of the possibility of the transmitter falling off your hand??! you should use a wrist strap or something next time.
