I performed the 300 mile initial break in service on my new Scram. This is not a how-to, just a commentary on what needs to be done and how easy (or not) it may be.

So, I'm getting my license next month, and after a ton of research (and temptation by the Husky Svartpilen 401), I'm deciding to get this for my first bike. I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video on your first service thoughts. Its VERY useful to know how frequently service is going to be needed, and what kind. (Definitely going to get that center stand XD)

I also appreciate you mentioning how irritating the valve adjustment may get for a beginner. My wrenching experience comes from basic car maintenance (Oil changes, brake pads, tire replacement) and some bicycle work. I wanted to actually use this bike's more frequent service as a way to get used to maintenance, and get familiar with taking it apart.

Would you say this is a good first bike for the aspiring mechanic, or maybe a little too much work?

Valve access certainly is not great. From tank off to tank on time for my 1980 Suzuki GS750L was 30-35 minutes and that's 8 valves. That was probably the same time I spent
doing the valves on my new Triumph 650 in the barracks parking lot back in the 1950's. Now having old, decrepit fingers and forgetfulness, I'll probably be looking at a day or two.
