Crazy because jon ended up being more like ned than any of his other children

At least Catelyn realized and admits to being terrible. Some folks that I’ve met in my life would never admit any wrongdoing or even have that capacity to self-reflect on themselves.

Crazy to be reminded of a time when D&D actually added valuable substance to the source material. Heart wrenching dialogue that really connects you to Jon *and* Cat.

"if he(Jon) made it through the night he'd live but it will be a very long night"
Goddamn that's subtle

When you do not know where the story is heading, you don't pay much attention to 'boring' conversations. But now that the story has ended, rewatching them is enjoyable.

So she really did have a heart for Jon after all these years, even when she didn’t know his origin story?

Whatever people may say, but Catherine's bitterness can be understood only by someone in her shoes. People might be oh John was just a nephew but she didn't get to know that in her lifetime for godsake.

Yet she still treat him like shit after this. Catelyn was a flawed person, but honestly her treatment of Jon regardless of her awareness of her flaws make me still not like her. Jon was innocent and never deserved to be treated the way she treated him.

I get why people are saying he should’ve told cat, but imagine any person pushing cat to the point of insulting Neds honour etc and she slips? Robert would’ve had the whole stark family killed in a blink.

Jon snow. Beating death since a child...

Say what you want about Ned Stark, but he neglected Jon as much as Catelyn. It was his sister's child and yet never made an effort to make Jon feel like he belonged in the family.

Imagine telling your wife the truth... Instead Ned couldn't even trust his own wife

One of the best monologue written in the history of cinema!

I’ve watched this scene so many times… honestly so subtle but one of my favourite scenes in game of thrones. Thanks for the edit

People who think Ned was a bad father figure to Jon Snow clearly have not properly watched the show. Ned Stark's children loved Jon and considered him as a part of their family. Jon loved and respected Ned and resembled him more than any of Ned's other children. You actually think Jon would look upto, love and respect someone years after they have died if they didn't love him?? Or neglected him??

This was recommended out of the blue and I'm glad it was. Wonderfully done.

I'm just trying to imagine a young heartbroken Catelyn, seeing Ned come home from the war with baby Jon, and going her whole life never knowing that the only thing stronger than his faith to her, was his promise to protect Lyanna's son.
