A lot of these seem personal. I've noticed that gyms which have a lot of egos, have less talent and more hard sparring/gym fights. Whereas gyms that are full of killers are fairly chill yet almost militant. Personally I'm just glad to have only been dropped by my friends so far lol

Tony, I've been training the last seven months and gotta say, you really are great for putting out so much information for free. I train at wildcard and usually watch a video of yours before I go in to give my workout direction. Hope to see you there one day!

Shannon briggs came into my boxing club in the KENT area, hes so kind and respectful, took photos with everyone and had a move around with all of us, came across as a gentle giant and was really eager to help people get better

Tony is correct about boxing etiquette in the ring during sparring sessions. Yes, it is a contact sport, but there are rules and ways to treat our sparring partners. Don't become the guy; no one wants to spar with

Hi Tony, great videos you put up and your commentary is spot on! I used to be an ABA England coach (would have to do a refresher course to be one again) and very much dislike the attitude between opponents/gym mates at times. Good coach's like you with a strong presents are vital in educating individual's and moulding them into better boxers and people outside of the gym ❤❤🥊🥊

Tony, respect... À class gentleman.
Just did my first ever proper sparing tonight at age 34. Loved it!
Still just unsure how hard each other should go. And as some one who has never had a street fight in my life and is not generally agro. It's a new world to me so your videos help a lot.

Happened to me about a week and a half ago. The gym had issues with this one guy because of his recklessness. Well I decided to spar him, give him the benefit of the doubt. Well I said light spar, lightly tapped him with a jab and a cross so I sent the tone. He responded with a heavy overhand to the face. I’m ok you did it now, and I ramped up. He got banned from open mats and got put on supervised spars. He also had a spar. What does he do, kicks the training partner during a boxing spar.

Thank you Tony for The Professional / Human Intel. Excellent in-your-face information. Really a fine line between sparring and deliberately hurting people.

Thank you for the content. I would have to agree with you on everything that you said throughout the video always keep your head and hands up and facing your opponent. And sparing is to learn you can go hard but it definitely depends on the situation. Respect to Shannon Briggs for checking on his opponent and making sure he was ok

Sparring hard all the time like a r-word will prep you like nothing else for the fights themselves. But it's also the main reason why so many fighters have brain damage. They took most of that damage in the gym, sparring, not in the fights themselves.

Especially guys like James Toney.

Exactly, sparring is for learning. Not brutalizing each other for no pay.

If you knock your buddy out in sparring, he’s gonna forget what he was supposed to learn sparring!

The guy in the yellow shirt is Alain Ngalani who runs Impakt Gym in Hong Kong and is a professional MMA fighter... Met him a few times when I was training out there and he's a pretty chill guy but I completely agree about the respect in sparring, plus the fact he's a professional fighter I would expect a higher level of decorum...

The guy that knocked out "Tyson Fury" is a friend of mine Gyemah Seth (aka Freezy Macbones). Really really nice guy, his style has developed a lot over the years adopting an Iron Mike style of fighting. Used to train together at Miguel's, now he's at Double Jab. Decent fighter...
