F***ING A! That was AWESOME! Sounds good just blasting into my headphones! Only other Alpinestars thing I have ever heard was Carbon Kid, and I only listened to it because it had Brian Molko on guest vocals, and I am an enormous Placebo superfan. Loved Carbon Kid, and was searching for it tonight to show my fiancée the cool video for it, and saw this as the second result of my search, so I threw it onto my random music playlist I use for everything: cleaning house, cooking, sewing, playing in the background when I play video games, etc. When this mix came up after I shuffled the playlist, I immediately liked how it sounded, but f'in ADORED it after listening to the whole thing. I've always loved the album version of 'Taste In Men' (in fact, after I first discovered Placebo, I moved out of my parents house to my very first apartment and was too poor for internet service, so I was limited to the music I already had downloaded to my pc before I moved out, so I only had 3 Placebo songs: Special K, Pure Morning, and Taste In Men. Pure Morning I had heard on the radio, which was my first time hearing anything from Placebo. So I downloaded the song I already knew and liked, and picked the other 2 based on liking the song titles. One of my first roommates loved to cause drama and drag it out as long as possible by posting (incredibly obvious) 'blind items' on her LiveJournal (remember those?!) about me and our other roommate, and as she was seriously sick of me playing those 3 songs over and over again, she referred to me as 'people who sit around and take placebos all day'
I laughed so hard, because I knew that she thought that that was just the pinnacle of subtle barbed wit. So I imagined her schlepping herself down to the internet Cafe on the corner where we all went to check email etc, and furiously typing this crap, and the worst thing that she could think to say about me is that I listen to Placebo a lot. Whoop de doo. HIGH-larious.)
Anyway, there's my silly story related (tangentially) to the original mix of this song.
