Builders fought steep terrain and rocky slopes with tons of Dynamite. They almost conquered the mountain. But towards the top, it was so steep and difficult to tame builders blasted tunnels through mountain rather than continue building over mountain. I forget how many workmen died fighting this mountain.

Today, this is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Romania. Road opens in Spring and closes end of Fall. It is too much to keep road open during winter. If you want to drive this remarkable road, come early because the road becomes a long traffic jam. Everyone wants a chance to drive the World Famous Transfagarasan Highway.

Eigentlich ein recht schönes Video🤗. Eigentlich, doch zuviel Berge und Wolken (der Pass in den Wolken) und zu wenig Transfagarasan (aus Sicht eines Motorradreisenden🏍) Trotzdem 👍
Actually quite a nice video🤗. Actually, but too many mountains and clouds (the pass in the clouds) and too little Transfagarasan (from the point of view of a motorcycle traveler🏍) Nevertheless👍
