Показать описание
For the very first time, Kisumu hosted a one of a kind music festival—the
2019 Madaraka Festival at Kisumu Beach Resort on August 3rd 2019. The artist line up reflected a blend of Kenyan and diaspora sounds with artists drawn from across different genres.
The acts that performed included, Kenyan prolific rapper Khaligraph Jones, legendary femcee Nazizi, the eclectic soulful R&B singer Karun, soulful singer-songwriter Bensoul,
music collective Nairobi Horns Project, American rapper Mazzi & Soul Purpose,
rapper Nafsi Huru, sensational Ohangla artist Musa Jakadalla, music trio CBK
Music, One Vibe Band and DJs: Kriss Darling and Suraj.
The music extravaganza was coordinated by Mackinlay Mutsembi of Nairobi Horns Project who was the festival’s Musical Director. Kenya’s beloved comedian Eric Omondi was the main host of the festival, alongside with MC Jakakamega and MC Mbom.
In 2020 Madaraka Festival will bring musicians, creatives, and fans to Kisumu, Kenya for the second time in Africa, after being held in Seattle, WA since 2014 at the prestigious Museum of Pop Culture at Seattle Center opposite the Gates Foundation Headquarters.
Since 2014, Madaraka Festival has attracted more than 10,000 patrons & reached over 12 million people digitally. This is a fantastic opportunity to help make One Vibe Africa’s radically collaborative work possible.
