Subnautica: Below Zero - Shadow Ridge Chelicerate Observatory

Показать описание
Just south of the Delta Island there is a steep terrain decline towards the Tree Spires biome. Rich in geothermal energy sources and exotic materials, it is a home to unique life form know as the Ventgarden. It alone provides a great view from the inside of the base, but there is a much more impressive feature nearby: Chelicerate, a magnificent leviathan class creature; two of them actually! One can be observed far above the base through the safety of a glass domes. The other one can be studied up close just behind the Shadow Ridge Observatory windows. Skilled scientists can also try and make physical contact with the creature, that is if they know how to stay safe. Otherwise, such meeting can end abruptly!

I love that Below Zero has visible currents in the water. Looks so good

"As you can clearly see, inside this base we are completely safe from the Leviathan.
...
Having established that, time to go mess with it."

Below Zero honestly looks SO GOOD. Massive step up from the original game, which already did look really nice.

Oh I had the base set up almost in the same excact location, at some point the Chelicerate started hanging out really close to it and during the time when game was loading in, it somehow had the ability to grab the vehicles in the moonpool, lost a Prawn that way...

That base and location is gorgeous. I like the chelicerates, they’re a lot more chill than the reapers.

Put my main base at this exact location, between the two biomes and not far from Margaret's base.

Most interesting place imo : very rich about landscape, Flora and fauna.

First part is on the edge, then goes down on my longest vertical links chain i've ever built, to reach the ground near the vent garden.

Nice base on an awesome spot !

0:14 i've said it before and i'll say it again the beginning of this track instills so much terror in me. no matter how many times i hear it, it's makes every fiber of my body want to turn around and run. like i literally paused the video and contemplated just clicking off of it. in fact that's why i'm sitting here typing this comment: because i'm procrastinating on unpausing the video.

edit: also 2:30 you just _know_ the only reason you survived this is because the cheli was fighting with the game's hitboxes just as much as you were 😂

The Chelicerate is a frightening creature, a true equivalent to the reaper leviathan

Feedback:
Original Subnautica: Can you set a base at the lost river, maybe as a ghost leviathan observatory or a base in the cove tree? There are so many materials in the lost river and there are a few energy sources such as thermal, bio and nuclear
BZ: Great base! Can you make a shadow leviathan observatory because they look cool but im too scared to go close to them without safety?

I don't care what anyone says, this is a good looking game. Sure the Sea-Truck could be wonky at times, but it's still good.

If you want to do more of these below zero bases a good location imo is on the west side of delta island. It's centre on the map and it has easy access to most resources. I sugest putting the base slightly above the surface so that the big rooms glass roofs see the clear sky

In one day I went from fearing chelicerates to actively bullying them, love it.

I built my base in this exact location but my chelicerate just went up with the other one and it doesnt go back down to its usual path😭

Well while constructing a base in the artic spires to study the iceworms i got poked by one of them. Thankfully it wasn't a hardcore save.
