Young fan of the band here.
I discovered China Crisis when they played Rewind Festival North here in the UK in 2021, and absorbed their discography after I found I enjoyed them quite a bit.
Listening to pieces like this gives me so much respect for them for their vision of new wave music.
The themes of dying industry are strong in this album, listening to the likes of this B side and Here Comes a Raincloud, I’m imagining places like Ravenscraig up near Glasgow, or derelict factories or rusting coal mine headgear, industrial moonscapes which once thrummed with the industry that gave so much to so many, I find it very evocative and poignant (Gary and Eddie being from the North West, a region at the time of their recording this album being deindustrialised) and super atmospheric, rather melancholy too. China Crisis are so much more than your average new wave band, this is art!

Listened to Dockland in my formative years, splendid track to listen to when thinking about all things related with growing up,

Would be a good theme for a Plague Inc like game, where a virus kills millions or billions. Has a scientific tone to it.
