The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) holds the 54th meeting for the ongoing debate on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in New York City on Tuesday, September 17. An Emergency Special Session of the UNGA was first held in 1997 in response to Israel’s construction of settlements in East Jerusalem and other areas. Since then, the session has been reconvened multiple times to address new developments in the conflict.
