PREACH BROTHER PREACH! I'VE BEEN DOING PLUMBING WORK FOR 20 YEARS. PEOPLE STILL LOOK AT ME CRAZY WHEN I TELL THEM THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FLUSHABLE WIPE.

THANK I’ve been a plumber 16 years now and people still don’t understand ESPECIALLY nursing home workers. Or maybe they don’t care because it’s not their house or their problem.

I was a maintenance guy and we had a tenant who used "flushable" wipes I would snake the lines and show her all the wipes I pulled out and tell her please don't flush anymore. She would back up again and on and on it went. After the third snake I told her the next time I pulled wipes from her drain I would have the manager add a charge to her rent for it. Of course she backed up again and I told her It wasn't going to be free this time and she said hold on one second, she comes back out with a triumphant look on her face and says look here pointing to the flushable words on the pack. I told her flushable wipes still clog drains the same as regular wipes and she told me straight up that I had no idea what I was talking about. I left on bad terms and of course she clogged again. Having had enough of her excuses I Googled the number of a plumbing company and asked them on speakerphone to explain if flushable wipes are safe to use and the guy played ball extremely well explaining that wipes and tampons cause about 90% of the clogs they clear. Her face was red but eventually after charging her 3 times she must have stopped because we didn't get called for it again and I would regularly check to make sure she wasn't backing up.

Cotonell flushable wipes are the only ones that actually break down like toilet paper

We've been on a septic for over 35 years. A few times we've had issues and our septic guy has been great at helping us out. Can't tell you how much we appreciate you'all and the job you do!

Been renting a home for about 3 years now that has a septic system up here in Alaska. It’s crazy how people think wipes are safe for septic systems. Why anyone would put anything other than fecal matter and toilet paper In a septic is beyond me. Even city water refining plants have gigantic rake like mechanisms that scoop out wipes, tampons, etc because it’s NOT MEANT to be flushed. Period. No pun intended. Keep up the good work! Poop=money!

Kimberly Clark changed cottonelle to be more flushable. Worth testing those. You could tell when they switched as the wipes fall apart easier in your hand etc.

Kimberly-Clark makes the best type to break down and they STILL don't fully dissolve.

Look at the cottonelle ones. I have heard they are the only wipe that actually breaks apart into tiny pieces like TP.

Cool, I don’t use flushable anyways. I also was told by a plumber don’t flush tissue down my old line. Has saved me more issues for now.

As a service plumber I want this video to go viral, but then again I’ll keep taking these checks

I remember way back in the day (can't remember which brand) that a brand of "flushable" wipes had "Do Not Flush", or something similar, written in small print on the back. This was a couple decades ago when these wipes were pretty new. It's basically why we never used them.

All flushable means is that it flushes down the toilet. It does not mean the wipe will not wreak havoc on the septic system.

In new York the sanitation department calls flushable wipes fatburgs, they clog the pipes and cause problems.

I've seen a 30 foot long and 5 foot wide mound of flushable wipes stuck in the sewer and it changed my mind forever.
