Mexican Military in Port Aransas Texas? 4/24/24

Hey guys. I have been living full-time in my F150 with a Leer Topper for over 5 years! You're more than Welcome to ride along!
I was doing some ship watching today in Port Aransas. Noticed several really cool Coast Guard vessels while I was speaking with friends. Got to record a military ship coming through and to my surprise, it belongs to the Mexican army. Anyone have any idea why that ship is in Port Aransas today?

Strong bond with US Navy. Mexico has a very modern well equipped and trained Navy. Their Naval Academy at Ver Cruz is rated as 4 th in the world.

The ship in the video is the ARM Independencia, an off-shore patrol vessel (it was designed and built in Mexico).

Very cool video btw

More than likely just a friendly port call (a visit) as part of thier training etc. Our navy visits ports all over the globe, say hi, spend money, goid will, maybe joint training event etc. Beautiful ship name and well maintained hull.

Port A!!! I haven't been down there in a while! I usually go down to Port Isabel. Mexican Army? Hmmm... That's odd. Nothing to worry about, though. That's probably the biggest ship they've got! LOL!

Is there a repair shop in port aransas? I got to see a Mexican helicopter trailered in on a flat bed with bullet holes coming to the states for repairs
