I tried out this air quality monitor and it seems to work.

Hello Franklin, I have just received the last meter (which is in this video) for my video. I have been doing some testing and all I can say is that you should stop using this meter for air quality as it is complete garbage. I am going to be proving that in my video but I just thought that I should go ahead and let you know in advance so you can stop using this meter as it does not work. I will also be taking this meter apart in the video as well, as I am sure it is going to be very interesting what I find inside... I have a real co meter that I will also be using in my video to show that the meter in this video is giving completely wrong information. I am sure all they did was add a micro processor inside and added a lot of calculations to make the screen look good. People should not be using this meter as someone may wake up dead from trusting in this meter.

I have been using this monitor to report how much smoke is present while using my wood stove. It does seem to be effective in reporting the different levels and if it gets to the moderate/serious range, I know to open the doors to let the smoke vent out. It isn't much smoke, you can barely smell it, but gives me a good indication.

Hey Franklin, I just ordered the one you have in this video from AliExpress (using your link), and I am ordering also the one on I found on Amazon at twice the cost, and a couple others as well to do an extensive review/comparison with a more expensive TemTop monitor for my YouTube channel. If you would like I will come back and let you know when I have the video up. I am going to be taking apart the one in this video as well as the one from Amazon to see if there is a difference in build quality and function. That way you will get to see what is on the inside. I decided to do this because I want to be able to alert people to a possible fake and possibly save a life in the process...

Thanks Franklin. I have been looking at allot of these units and am finding out that when people take them apart there is actually only one sensor that is supposed to give all the readings which is FAKE FAKE FAKE. I did however look at those again and compared the descriptions to this unit, and this unit "claims" to have a number of different sensors to give the readings. I can't afford to waste money to buy this if it is fake. This unit (and thanks again for your time reviewing/testing) seems to be a bit more accurate with the different readings while other readings stay the same which leads me to believe that possibly this unit does actually have multiple sensors inside, and was wondering it you could do me and others a favor....
Could you PLEASE make another video about this unit and do a tear-down to see if in-fact there are multiple sensors inside the unit?
The description on Amazon states - "Built-in Multiple Sensors: This air quality monitor using infrared detection technology, laser detection technology and electrochemical detection technology to show you the accurate data."...
This effort would be much much appreciated. I was thinking of getting this unit to do a review/tear-down on my channel, but like I said, I simply can't afford to waste 42 dollars right now as that is how much this is on Amazon... Hope you can help.

This is a fake detector. If you take it apart you will see it only has one sensor that doesn't measure most of what it says it can. It randomly generates fake numbers. There is a guy on youtube that actually tests these meters and doesn't just take what they are being shown as correct. Might want to get a good name brand meter to use for comparison.

So it is good ? Hitting the carpet will make dust particles fly and the device accurately responds by giving a high value, the same with co2 from mouth.

They wired the usb port wrong on this, can't charge it without it tripping out any of my USB sources.

***!!! Please be aware of these meters. I've opened most of these and on all of them there is NOT a CO2 sensor in it !!!***

There is only a cheap TVOC or more like an alcohol sensor in it.
Some have a temperature and / or moisture sensor in it.
The CO2 is calculated or defined with the resistors on the PCB.


So, If you want a detector that measures temperature, moisture and some kind of TVOC / Alcohol this is a cute toy for it.

For serious measurement DON'T use these detectors.

(Keep in mind that a real loose PCB CO2 sensor costs between +/ $ 50 - $ 200)

At around $117
Im wondering if its fake or not
Also considering qingping pro, not as many sensors but seems legit brand at a whooping $180 😊

Mine stopped working very quickly (a few months). The screen has lost all the contrast and it's practically unusable. Too expensive for such a short lifespan.

Has anyone tried to dismount it??
