Ever wondered about those mysterious stone nubs on ancient megaliths? A geologist's revelation in Egypt challenges everything we thought we knew about old-school quarrying, linking the enigmatic stone nub phenomenon found worldwide directly to the traditional wedge-and-chisel method.

Except that’s not the Osirion, that’s the Unfinished Obelisk.

the curved surface suggests slabs of something like clay, being stacked on each other while wet. they then have almost no gaps, and tend to bow a bit, from the weight. the nubs could ve caused by some kind of vacuum device like a tube, used to pull the stones into place. apparently there is a kind of modern device like that.

Ive seen a sight where small statues like Stone heads and animals hung on the nubs

That’s it. The way the scoop leave the stone balanced on a stub, you break the stone off the stub leaving a nub. They probably dug them out of the quarry in long blocks and cut them into smaller blocks later leaving the nubs on some of the blocks.

Oh yeah, try explaining the scalloping/scooping look in the sides of those giant slabs.

They poured it into a sack. Just like a sack of concrete that got wet and hardened. It has nubs .

Still the brain doesn't get it. In those days giants ruled the earth. I'm guessing with the size of one's finger to be foot long or somthing, but size does matter.

It's where the people's hands were needed to hold once the sound made all rocks weightless, makes perfect sense of you think about it.

geopolymer the giants made the blocks just making concrete JUST ADD WATER 💦 not FREQUENCY or vibrations

That is where they were broken off. They were poured as liquid stone

The nubs were left so the rock wouldnt close the gap once the block wa finally freed fr t rock face

It's always at the bottom of the block. They are relief holes so the concrete can settle downwards without bubbles. Why is any of this still a mystery?

I'm convinced that they figured out how to liquefy the stone and pour it like concrete

The nubs would be on the bottom. Just before lifting it from the ground. The stones would be chiseled on the bottom to little nub points and the rest of it would be off the ground. Then they would put their ropes around it. And when ready break the nub from the ground. Leaving a nub in the side of the stone. To be later removed when placed.

"The Bronze Horseman" sculpted from a 1250 (originally 1500) ton granite boulder transported by 400 men in 9 months from Finland to St. Petersburg. One exclusive enormouse barge, and two war ships wdde used as transport once the granite got on shore

If the stones were cast and dried by thermo setting like Portland cement does, an imperfect mix could result in areas that have higher heat and the resulting effect would be nubs

It makes sense if the blocks were poured with a geopolymer and it makes more sense in the entire building process.
