Those who dislike are most likely not in medicine (or do not have the experiences, understanding or empathy to understand LGBTQIA+ community struggles) and do not understand as a medical provider how necessary it is to discuss this. As a provider, I want to make my patients feel comfortable, respected, and deserving of care. This is not a political issue. There are so many facets to LGBTQIA healthcare and more training is needed in every setting.

This is the second webinar I've attended by Dr. Zucker, every time I take away something new. I wish we had a subject about minority groups in our medical faculties, but until then these discussions and lectures are a great source of information and a great way to raise awareness!
Look out for our blog post recapping the webinar, will be published by Osmosis at the end of June (:

I’m so glad to see this kind of discussion being had amongst medical professionals. It’s true that something a small as displaying an LGBT flag shows allyship and makes an environment feel more welcoming. Great video!
