Black Friday is coming soon and I often find that it’s the best time for sales. I have compared prices with other times such as boxing day and generally I have gotten the best deals on Black Friday. Specifically on the Thursday and Friday of the sale. There are times where I have messaged a company and asked if there were any coupons or available discounts. By shopping online you will avoid all of the hassle of the crowds. You can have a coffee and relax in the comfort of your own home and it’s much easier to compare prices at different places online. Plus as I’ll talk about in tip 4 by shopping online it's easier to keep track of your purchase costs so that you are staying on budget. Check the prices now. Be sure to check the prices of what you want before the sale so that you know that you are actually getting a good deal. Personally, I like to check on Google Shopping, Walmart, Costco, and Amazon. Also check to see if it is a 3rd party seller. Personally I prefer to buy directly from the company or directly from Amazon or best buy. I think it’s generally safer to buy from big companies that are reputable for they generally will spend more on their IT security and likely have authentic products.
There are so many security cameras and smart watches that are very very cheap and have great specifications so the question is why are they so cheap? Personally, I think they are cheap because they want to collect your data. I’d rather purchase a more expensive security camera or watch from Nest which is owned by Google or Ring which is owned by Amazon for they are very focused on security and they are companies that are based in the United States that follow specific privacy rules and regulations.
You also want to be careful to look for if the product is refurbished or as they call it now Renewed and who the product is shipped and sold by. You also want to check out the size of the product. Check out reviews to make sure you are getting a good quality product. Also research the products. You can go on YouTube and watch product reviews so that you have a better chance at getting a good quality product. Making a list can help you with your budget and it will help you to not impulse buy. I make my list on Google Sheets. Be honest about your financial situation and think about how much you should budget. If you have consumer debt then I would recommend to focus on your needs instead of wants. Paying 20% or more on credit card debt is extreme. If you have consumer debt then paying off that debt should be the primary focus. You can always increase your shopping budget as your financial situation improves. You can always still use the budget template to create a wish list for the future. Having a realistic budget is important, spending on Holidays or sale days shouldn’t be the thing that holds you back from your financial goals. It’s hard for you see everyone spending, spending, spending, but keep in mind that most people have consumer debt and everyone's financial situation is different. You want to make choices that are best for you and your family for having financial security is priceless.
