Want to create your own Arma 3 dedicated server? Let's do it.

First find yourself a host. This can be any dedicated host or machine as long as it is running Windows.

In some cases, the windows defender firewall can block incoming connections. Make sure you add an inbound rule on the windows defender firewall to allow port 2302(or whatever port you used) to allow incoming connections!

It's better to use a separate Steam account for the server. It does not need to own Arma 3 at all, you can download the dedicated server without owning the game, and the headless client is included.

@1:49 this is contradicting if it is not installed on arma 3 directory it won't launch and give an error .exe is not found.

Im having an issue. I was able to get my MP game to launch the first time after watching this but I then closed out to mess with the mission difficulty settings in Faster, when I tried to start the server and clients again I got an error saying "Cannot open file 'mpmissions/mission'". I wasnt able to find the pbo file in the referenced folder but did find it in my OneDrive steamMPMission folder.

So from the way it sounds to set up a dedciated server ill need to buy arma on a steam alt to use so i can still play the server with my main. Will I need to purchase the DLC as well for the DLC content to be in the server? I'm planning on running the antistasi mod so it has options to enable DLC content
