I'm a retired state police officer. I have seen far to many bodies drug out of mangled cars as a result of alcohol. I have gone on many domestic violence calls, and everyone of them involved alcohol. It just is not worth it.

The problem with deception is that people don't know they are being decevied

Spencer, my dad drank heavily the whole time I was growing up. He was unpredictable and physically and verbally abusive, especially when he had been drinking. We were always afraid of him and never knew what to expect from day to day. To be fair, some days he was very good to us but we never knew when that old demon would rear its ugly head. After I grew up and moved away (halfway across the country) and had a wonderful family of my own, my dad decided for health reasons to stop drinking. He was a completely different person. I feel bad because I was still fearful around him because that’s how I knew him growing up. But let me tell you, I’m so thankful to have gotten to know the real person who was actually kind and sweet before he passed away. Just to think all those years that his true kind and sweet nature was covered up by the demon of alcoholism. I’m so glad he quit before he died so I could get to know my real father. 💕

Before we were married, my husband was gloriously saved from alcoholism and a life of brokenness. I thank God that he hasn't had a drink since and that I never saw him during his time as an alcoholic. Without that deliverance, I wouldn't be a pastor's wife today, but a woman still praying and dreaming of her childhood sweetheart's repentance and salvation. Alcohol is a dark road. And "whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise". Don't take the first step, and you won't have to worry about the end of the road.

I hate alcohol with every fiber of my being! My older brother wrapped his car around a tree while drunk. Went straight to hell! My mother beat us, mercilessly while being drunk. She died in her sins and is in hell! My father disappeared for years at a time, because he would rather be drunk. He got saved late in life, and is in heaven, but lived the remainder of his life suffering from the effects of that demon rum. Namely the fact the HE was the man responsible for HIS OWN son becoming an alcoholic. I tried to drown my sorrows with that junk because being drunk was better than my reality. I was a full-blown alcoholic by the time I was 16! Jesus saved me, and after a little while, HE broke the chains of my bondage, and I am never going to be convinced that drinking is OK! Ever! It destroys everything in its path!

Oh dear.. I remember trying to witness to my lost friends whilst drunk and high. It was very shameful.

Nobody ever sat down at a bar and ordered their first drink and said, "I can't wait until I become an alcoholic." But millions have become alcoholics. If you don't take a drink, then you never have to worry about it.

Great video man. I completely agree with you on alcohol. I’ve seen it destroy so many lives. Mine included. I’ve been 27 years sober now.

Thank you for this. I am a teetotaler myself. It was just a natural thing that happened to me when I began my walk with the Lord. It's like the Holy Spirit just took the desire to drink or use foul language from me. I know that isn't how it happens for everyone, but it did for me. I will never understand how a follower of Jesus, Holy Spirit filled, could want to partake of something that causes so much pain and suffering in this world, especially for children. I work for a church (don't attend there) but they are big drinkers and meet in breweries for different studies and alcohol comes up frequently. The church where I attend never mentions alcohol and those I know personally are also teetotalers. Just seems like a natural thing to me that when we become a new creation, we put away those things that could be destructive or a hindrance to our walk.

when I was in (public) high school, I was known as the kid who 'didn't do anything' because I refrained from drinking alcohol at parties, and hence avoided a lot of parties where that was the sole purpose of getting together. a lot of people never got to know me outside of 'the guy who didn't do anything'

The Bible tells us to stay away from all appearances of evil. I think that covers a lot of things!

I was a alcoholic for years . I would get drunk look in the mirror and could not stand who was looking back. I actually hated myself. Three years ago God took that off of me and haven't drank since. I heard not audibly but in my heart" no time to be drunken" and I was done. Thank you Father God.

Brother, I suffered from alcoholism for most my adult life. The Lord removed the thirst for it one day. I don't even want it. It's one of the worst things for a Christian to do spritually. All glory to the Most High Jesus Christ for saving me.

The same people who accuse us of easy believism substitute works for faith then call us legalists. It's dumbfounding.
