Offline Wikipedia Wireless Access Point on a Raspberry Pi using Kiwix

Показать описание
In this video I go over the process of installing Raspbian on a Raspberry Pi. Then I install Kiwix Offline Wikipedia server. Finally, I set up the Raspberry Pi as a standalone WiFi access point with DHCP to serve Wikipedia to wireless clients. All DNS requests direct clients to the Kiwix server. I use Overlay FS to make a read only system so you can turn it off without shutting it down.

Once I input the ip address to check if it’s up, I get ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. An no site popping up, any ideas?

Great video. Current versions of Rasperry Pi OS use NetworkManager rather than dhcpd, hostap and dnsmasq. Any chance you could create an update that shows the NetworkManager commands to set the Pi up as a hotspot?

I'm getting stuck at the step for the sudo apt install dnsmasq (13:37), I already have my pi connected to my home wifi is that what is messing this up? it says connecting to raspian.raspberrypi.org, but then times out with a failure

Hey I don’t know if you still pay attention to your comments but when I go to my ip address I get a welcome to nginx page. Any idea where I went wrong?
