Listening to this song in the late 80s made me feel sad. It's the lyrics and the way Adrian sang it. Yet I could never stop listening because it's also one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. Over 30 years later, it still makes me feel sad. And I still can't stop listening.

Gosh this band from first listen hits me to the core... A true genius

Their music was simply immense yet, I think, they did not have the look to get famous in the 80s. They weren't pretty enough... because image was just as important than the music in the 80s and frankly The Sound didn't conform. I fear this lacking in fame and popularity was, in some part, a reason why Adrian took his own life. I know he suffered from depression but I just feel it may have contributed to his end. I recently bought both of their CD box sets and I play them all the time. This song, Total Recall is a personal favourite.
