Was stuck in departures at Rome airport during an air traffic controller strike once and sat next to JPA and his family. It was in the transfer window and I was gutted. He was a true gentleman and happy to chat whilst nimbly deflecting the ‘why are you in Rome - please don’t leave questions!’. Got his autograph on the back of a business card somewhere. Was staggered by what a big bloke he is close up
