It's easy to find out what year persona 5 takes place In by looking at two characters ken and akechi

Ken was born on June 24th, 1998

Akechi was born June 2, 1998
Ken was 11 in p3 and akechi is 18 in p5 that's a seven year difference p3 takes place in 2009 seven years later would be 2016

I honestly thought that the "XX" IN 20XX was 2020 because the Roman numeral for 20 is XX. But seeing as the game came out in 2016, it would be logical that it would take place in that time.

Actually it's 2015. Rise is 16 in persona 4, as her birthday was a month prior to when you first get her on the team. Not that one year makes much difference, just thought I'd clear it up.
