The takeaway is there is no wheat shortage but they are going to still raise prices.

First the virus, now human behavior. My advice to you all.. connect with your neighbors and neighborhoods. Grow your own crops, and don't depend on government.

When MSNBC/CNN finally start telling the truth and talk about a food shortage then you know we're screwed.

If fertilizers become difficult to acquire, an incredible amount of the worlds crop yields will plummet and many would become malnourished or begin to starve. A major reason the worlds population has exploded in the last 70 years is because of fertilizers making it possible for fewer people to make more food on mediocre land. If the ability to maximize crop yields goes away there just won’t be enough food for our current system.

There's plenty of food to go around even with Russian sanctions, the problem is the distribution network that prioritizes profits over delivering food where it needs to go

Increasing costs is just greed by giant corporations. They are gonna make less (god forbid) and most of us are gonna suffer for that.

This is what happens when you develop dependencies on your enemies.

Same with oil, "price are going up but not to level we see on wall street". Investor speculation is driving the increase in prices.
I am a stock investor and my stocks are overvalued at this point. I could sell Tyson or Exxon and scoop up 50 to 60% profits. I am not going to do that because consumers are suffering and I am not that kind of guy. I am all in to make a profit but not when it price gouges my fellow citizens. I need to sleep at night.

Most of that wheat and grain from Russia has a fungus. It is not allowed in the U.S and even China will only take some of it and not much. Those poor countries are eating grain we do not want. So they were eating Russian trash before. If we can step up decent grain production then they will be better off.

Then why dont we grow our own? We have so much unused empty land that gets turned into rich people condos instead of something useful like a wheat farm or a business which brings work to the area

Thank your friendly neighborhood government for all of this.

We have had a bumper crop of wheat here in Australia because of freakishly large amounts of rain this past year. That can help alleviate things. Maybe our government should encourage the planting of more grain.

And tell me why is the world needs to feed Somalia for free? What in the world are they doing to help themselves? Just multiplying??? They need to start contributing to the world and not just eat up its resources… after all they were in support of USSR and now Russia so let Russia take care of whatever they brew in there and take its refugees to feed them in Russia

Thank you to farmers around the world who planted more wheat last year in the fall anticipating this Russian war. A war many thought was not going to happen. So how did the farmers know? This is a conspiracy!

Oh really, what about American farmers being told to plow under their crops or the won't receive government subsidies

Don’t end trade of food or fertilizers. United States can be so stupid.
