"Kitbashing is the daughter of photobashing" I mean...it comes from making real life miniatures for film from pre existing model kits lol, hence the Kit Bashing. Like a lot of the details for the star wars spaceships come from real car and tank kits etc.

I feel like I'm activating every addon that comes with Blender one by one.

There's a cool add-on for kitbashing, it is called KITOPS 2. It is free, and it basically makes the workflow much faster, and even comes with a free kit of pieces.

Sigh... why do my career choices always end up with me having to obtain other peoples balls for mixing and matching?

also EVERYONE kitbashes from 3d artists to game devs and VFX studios, tbh you have to, especially if you have dead lines

And just for good measure, duplicate instances of the same object by using ALT + D instead of SHIFT + D to save up memory on exact duplicates. It also makes it so that when you edit one duplicate, all the editions will propagate into all the duplicates of the same object. Saves up time too. Thanks for sharing that website, I had no idea it existed.

The quickest way to move the pivot point is to...
in Edit mode, select the vertices at the location you want to send your 3D cursor.
Then press Shift + S and choose Cursor to Selected.
After that, in Object mode with the object selected you go into your menu to choose Object> Set Origin> Set Origin to 3D Cursor.
And bam, not a problem!

I really love the McDonald’s working hours references, it gives us a humorous way to see perspective.

For quickly setting Origin to bottom (example of a cube) : Edit Mode -> Select the bottom face/vertices -> Shift+S -> 3D Cursor to selection -> Object Mode -> Origin to 3D Cursor

How I would set the origin for all of those objects simultaneously:

- A to select All
- Object Properties tab > Set X and Y Location to 0 > Right-click X: Copy Single to Selected > Right-click Y: Copy Single to Selected
- Object > Set Origin > Origin to 3D Cursor

Every single item will be centered into the same spot on the X and Y axis, and then it uses the 3D cursor (preferably at the default 0, 0, 0) to batch-set the origin all to the bottom of all objects at once.

3:22 You can quickly set the origin to the bottom of an object by selecting the vertices at the bottom and press Shift + S then clicking "Cursor to selected", Then you can go into object mode and right-click, hover over "Set Origin" and select "Origin to 3D Cursor".

I still don't know what to say but I just comment here so the video can be recommended to others

solution for @3:20 you can set transform multiple origin at header of the 3D viewport(top right corner) labelled "option"

I don't know if someone else commented this but you can click options in the upper right, and select transforms affect only origins, then you can select multiple objects and move their origins
