Chinese citizen journalist Zhang Zhan sentenced to four years in jail for Wuhan coronavirus reports

Zhang Zhan, a former lawyer and a citizen journalist in China, was sentenced to four years in prison on December 28, 2020, for her reports out of Wuhan as the coronavirus outbreak unfurled early this year. A Shanghai court found her guilty of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble”. Reporters and supporters were blocked from entering the court to see Zhang during the trial.

In hospital where i work, we have regulations which patient, patient's family, and visitors are not allowed to take videos or pictures. it is also regulated by goverment regulations in my country. This women just looking for trouble i think

She should have gone to US for her journalistic investigation.

She worked for NGO were promised bright future. She'll be granted asylum, get free education and become a real journalist in US after getting out of the jail in one year or so due to health issue. Then Zhang will report darkest side of China as much as possible which people in US love to read. Win win situation. Shortcut to developed countries for some young people like her or those Hongkong rioters.

What she "reported" wasn't the point. The purpose she uploaded the videos was the reason she was jailed. Anyone who can read Chinese should take a look at the titles of her videos. She hated the government herself and want her audience to be the same.
