I wish I had a professor like him when I was young.

Over 70 years old, and still getting wisdom from this dude.
What a treasure.

My younger brother had some emotional distress as a pre school aged child. The psychologist put him on medication and told my mom that she shouldn't discipline him because he had anxiety. Now he's 55 years old...and never made anything of himself. He's been on welfare for the past 25 years. He has a victim mentality. When he moans and groans about his life's situation to me, there's nothing I can really say because he won't listen and he will just become angry.

You speak words of wisdom, Unfortunately those who need to learn from your teachings will be the ones who reject them .

They told me I’ve had Crohn’s disease when I was 14. Life has been hard and every failure has been a blessing in disguise, at 45 I still make myself work full-time even with 26 months of long COVID. Team Jesus winning 🥇

4:32 he's saying "Oedipal" in both instances, but he corrects his own pronunciation for the second one. He's not saying "eatable" or "edible."

Dr Peterson, Sir. I watch your lectures over and over again. Listening to you articulate your points is always a refreshing learning experience.

Never in my life, until one year ago, did I know you even existed. Or anyone like you!

Today's technology allows so many to know you. I'm always astonished and perplexed when you receive negative responses from anyone.

You've been exposed to the world that needs you, and other like minded persons, for clear understandings. Not only of the world we live in. But of our own minds.

As always. Thank you, and your Family, for the hard work and dedication to educating, all before us, all of us presently, and those ahead.

All, despite the difficulties that may lie ahead, thanks to your invaluable efforts your entire life.

You are, and will always be, one of the top lecturers of our time. If not the top!?

Admired. Loved. Always astonished and grateful for your work.

The sense of meaning life can provide to you is proportionate to the amount of responsibility you decide to take on.

Like one of the commentators stated, this isn’t one size fits all. Family dynamics are complex and often fractured. Wisdom and insight are imperative for a positive outcome, especially in situations of family dysfunction.

Im 28 year old neurodivergent man with ADHD and this video makes me feel ashamed. I was using it like excuse to don't have perfect life or even trying to achieve better one. I was hiding before my resposibility because Im also over sensitive and hate stress. But this is true, everything there makes sense. I can't hide from responcibility, I must do maximum I can. Proffesor Peterson is one very inspiritional and wise man. Great video.

Now that everyone has the victimhood mentality, it will be very difficult to convince people to move beyond it. It's very easy to play the victim because that means pointing fingers at others. Denying victimhood is far more difficult.

“Blank Check / Kid In A Candy Store” mentality. Abandonment of responsibilities is the most common childhood fantasy, because responsibility is seen almost as a newly-acquired burden to a kid. It’s attractive to dangle that. It’s running away to join the circus, yes, or joining a gang.

ohh yes, i often refer to the current state of affairs as a competition of who is most opressed or disadvantaged to gain the most social benefits.

The United States Marine Corps taught leadership principles; one of which was to "seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions."

this lecture reminds me of The Lion King. how Simba was taken into a life of lazy indulgence with no worries and no responsibilities by Timon and Pumba but deep down he felt that something was missing. something was off. it all felt empty and pointless until he met again with Nala, remembered his father's words and chose to take his place as the king and be responsible for his kingdom. at that point he finally put the puzzle pieces of his life together and found meaning and happiness.
