Potato Printing Script

‘Hello! We’re using these potato prints to make a picture that you can take home or display here in our Front Barn. You can use the different shapes in their colours to create your very own picture and see which print you like best. If you take the paper home you could even use it for wrapping paper!

Materials

• Pre-cut potato stamps in a range of shapes
• Paper plates (for paint) (or paint trays from the Learning Centre)
• Bright poster paints
• A4 printing paper
• Washing line and pegs in Front Barn

Step 1: Select a piece of A4 paper.

Step 2: Choose a colour paint and a potato print shape next to it.

Step 3: Put the potato print shape into its colour paint. Make sure that it is fully covered in the paint, however make sure it is not dripping as this will make the picture less clear. Remove excess paint with a paint brush or by gently tapping it.

Step 4: Now start printing on your piece of paper. Use it as many times as you like.

Step 5: Add different designs and colours by choosing different potato prints and their paints. You can hang the paper in our ‘Potato Print Gallery’ or take it home.
