It's been years since I discovered this song and I don't think I've ever come back to explain what it means to me.
When I was a sophomore in high school, I heard this little hidden gem on Pandora. Of course I fell in love with it, so I searched it up on Youtube and began listening to it when I worked. It slowly became a daily routine. Whenever I needed to focus, it was Hello Scotland. Whenever I needed to calm down, it was Hello Scotland. Whenever I just wanted something to make me feel like I was on top of the world, it was always this song. I even had it bookmarked on my old computer.
There's just something about it. I can't accurately describe the way this song makes me feel, or all the memories I have associated it with. I'm writing this from my university as a freshman who, just like my younger self, was looking for good music to listen to as I worked. I hadn't put on this song in a while, so I was shocked by the wave of emotions I felt as I pressed play. All the memories are coming back, reminding me that even in the midst of stress, sadness, or despair, there are beautiful things left in this chaotic world.
Beautiful things like this song.

Fair enough. I pretty much agree with you; there's a lot of post-rock which really isn't very engrossing.
