Mom + Dad, if your child’s constipation 💩 has become bad enough and been around long enough, it’s likely you’ve heard of the medication 💊 called Miralax.

Miralax has been a point of controversy for years after the FDA did a study and found that 167 kids taking Miralax had severe emotional and psychiatric side effects. 😰 This debate has continued as the FDA has failed to approve its use for kids under the age of 17, but it is still being used “off label” for millions of younger kids for many, many years. ❌

Experts have documented common side effects of Miralax, showing that it actually increases bloating, gas, cramping diarrhea and even additional stomach pain and pressure. Over the last few years, parents have noticed that their kiddos who’ve grown up taking Miralax also developed severe behavioral changes such as anxiety, mood swings, anger, paranoia and massive personality changes. 😞

So what is a more natural + drug-free way to help with constipation? 🧐

First, we have to get to the root cause. In the vast majority of cases we find that the true root cause of constipation is poor communication + coordination in the neurological signaling that occurs from the brain to the gut, and then from the gut back to the brain. 🧠

There are meters upon meters of muscles in your child’s GI tract, and keeping them all coordinated & functioning just right requires a TON of work from the nervous system. If there is even slight interference and disruption to that communication, it can really throw things off and slow down digestive motility. 🏃

These interferences and disruptions are called subluxations. And these lead to a neurological challenge called dysautonomia.

Learn more about the root causes of constipation and the dangers of Miralax and watch Dr. Nicole’s video on YouTube or read our blog post that break this down even further.

When you’re ready for drug-free help and solutions, our doctors at SFC, are trained to help find + detect those interferences & disruptions, and make gentle & easy adjustments to get things “moving” once again!

I’m 11 and sometimes I really have to take it. I don’t take it often. Also I don’t put large amounts of it and a small amount of water.
