This is simply the best Jetta Mk6 rear brake pad and rotor instructional video I have seen. Great work and thank you! The step-by-step instructions, the tools required, the lighting and camera angles are just awesome great job! You’re going to save your subscribers a lot of time and money. Kudos!

Fellow Canadian here! I wish I had grabbed a double-double from Tim's & watched your video before attempting my (2013 Jetta) rear brake job as well. I actually DID overnight the triple-square and found the it wouldn't fit. Came in, beaten, told my wife I needed help- found your video and boy, I was embarrassed...until I read the comments, lol. Seems this is a common occurrence. Now everything is buttoned up. Thank you!

im hearing people say its their first time doing brakes.
Please be careful brakes are IMPORTANT. if your not used to working on cars, dont start with brakes!
Having said that, its not very hard on most cars, on this car its a pain.
You need two wrenches for the caliper pins.
They should be METRIC and thin because the hat on the inboard bolt is only 6 or 7 mm high which makes it hard to grab and break loose. Secondly, the outboard bolt is surrounded by the molded aluminum caliper so slim wrenches are a must.
The video is better than any ive ever made, which is none.
This guy took the time to video this arcane procedure, edit it, list the tools needed (metric please) and explain everything clearly. What else can you ask for.
How many people make informative videos as opposed to just doing the work, without helping the next guy on his one way trip?
Bravo and thank you

On my way to harbor freight to get the brake caliper compression tool for 24 bucks and saving myself $400 bucks that the dealer wanted. First time doing VW brakes on my daughter's jetta and these videos make it possible. Thanks for the very clear and specific instructions.

Nice. Did not have to remove the caliper bracket to remove the rotors. First video I see that. Saves a bunch of time.

Thank you! Just finished and apart from almost stripping one caliper pin bolt everything went super smooth. Appreciate the clear video. I've done a few brake jobs but like to have a clear picture of what I'm going into first and your video did just that.

Excellent video. The editing and narration are superb! Using the cars Jack and lug wrench shows what can be done with the most minimal of tools. Thank you!

I appreciate this video. Im currently at the point I would take off the caliper housing or mount and turned to this video to see the best way of doing that. I didn't know on some vehicles you could get the rotor off without this step. Thank you.

Great video. Remember, pump your brakes for a good while before you drive the car to make sure the brakes are back in the correct position. A neighbor of mine crashed into another neighbors car when he forgot to do this. Backed down his driveway and could not stop. LOL. Funny to the casual observer but not to those involved.

I found the video very clean and polite then a wild tim hortons cup showed up, and I immediatly understood why

Thanks for a excellent video, I didn't think you can take the rotors off that way. Good job.

Also when your finished, pull the E brake handle up and down until it firms up and pump the front brakes until firm before driving off.

Changed all my brakes on my Jetta, the front were easier since I used a impact driver to take out the bolts. The rear brakes were a little harder since you have to use a 13 and 15mm to take out the bolt. I didn’t change the rotors so now I have a squeal sound. Gonna put new rotors and brakes in a couple months lol.

Thank you for showing how to remove without taking the caliper bracket off! saving me tons of stress (even though its already cost me a few hours already...oh well)

Great video only I wish I saw it last spring when I did my breaks and found out the hard way that I didn’t have to remove the caliper carrier, I wasted more time with the triple square than the whole break job lol
