State Fair Rope Maker
Показать описание
Here is a short demo on how the rope making machine will work. This one has seven hooks, the one for the fair will have only three. A slip knot will need to be placed on one of the hooks. From there, you will pull out the twine and walk it over to the single board holding the hook. You will need to connect three strands of the rope to the first hook, making your first "line" before repeating the first step over to complete your second line on your second hook. Repeat for your third line. In all you will need to have three strands of rope looped around each hook. Cut the last strand and knot it to one of your lines tightly. Grab your gork and separate your lines so they are not touching (there will be three notches cut out for them). Person #1 will begin turning the crank to their right. Our rope maker will have a platform to stand on and the crank will be attached. Person #2 needs to hold the gork, beginning at the opposite end of the hooks. Person #3 will be holding the single board with the hook. As #1 starts turning, the rope will begin twisting and pulling tighter. #3 may have to start leaning back to hold tension. #2 will only move the gork once the single board's hook begins twisting. As the rope begins to twist, #2 will walk alongside the rope with the gork, keeping the lines from tangling. Once #2 has reached the main hooks, #1 can tape off the ends behind the gork, in the middle of the rope, and at the end of the rope by the single board. Once they are all taped off, cut the rope at the hooks, cut the tape in middle, and cut the rope closest to the single hook. You should have three pieces of rope. We used about 10' of rope per pass.
