I Told This Police Sergeant That My Constitutional Rights Are Not A Game

Police officers' attitudes towards journalists can vary widely depending on individual perspectives, experiences, and the context of their interactions.

A police officer may perceive someone exercising their rights during an encounter as "playing a game" for a few reasons:

Lack of Understanding: Some officers may not fully understand or appreciate the rights of individuals during encounters, particularly if they perceive the exercise of these rights as obstructing their duties.

Frustration or Pressure: Officers may feel frustrated or pressured when individuals exercise their rights, especially if they believe it is hindering their ability to carry out their duties efficiently. This frustration could lead them to perceive the individual's actions as a game.

Skepticism or Distrust: In some cases, officers may interpret the exercise of rights as a sign of distrust or skepticism towards law enforcement. This perception may lead them to view the interaction as a challenge or game.

Training or Cultural Factors: Some police training or organizational cultures may emphasize compliance and deference to authority over the assertion of individual rights. In such environments, officers may be less tolerant of individuals who assert their rights, viewing it as non-compliance or defiance.

Previous Experiences: Past encounters where individuals have attempted to manipulate or deceive officers may contribute to a generalized suspicion or cynicism towards anyone who appears to be "playing games" during an interaction.

It's important to note that while exercising one's rights is a fundamental aspect of the legal system, misunderstandings or misinterpretations can occur during tense or unfamiliar situations.

And remember ... cops lie but video does not!

The cops consider it a game because for them there's no consequences for breaking the law by abusing people rights.

A cop that considers his job of law enforcement and his responsibility to uphold the values of the Constitution a "game" is a danger to the public.

After watching many audits, there is a general rule of thumb. The longer the cop stands in front of the camera, and the more they talk, the dumber they look.

It’s a game for them because they have nothing to lose.

If I was a cop I'd be too ashamed to state my name as well.

Pretty much said it right there. Your rights are playing a game because it throws off their script, and inflicts severe emotional damage 😢

A cop who refuses to identify himself is not a cop. He's just a clown in a costume.

I will never understand how these 🐖s feel empowered harassing a law abiding citizen. Such cowards. They didn't "swear an oath" they repeated some words in order to get the badge and gun that make them feel superior. That officer looked so defeated, shoulders dropped, dragging his feet, on his walk of shame.
Audits are needed and well over due. Thanks for doing what you do.

“The safety of MY people” speaks volumes. You gotta love when they try to show how intelligent they are, but just end up showing how intelligent they are.🤣

When you told him that you’re a Civil Rights Auditor, his whole demeanor changed!

Because the oath, constitution, law, policy, and truth make it hard for evil to thrive. All that oath swearing they did was just a means to collect pay, benefits, and power. In that uniform he speaks for his profession, his actions define them as a whole. The cameras have forced them into the light. Evil hates light.

The cop may not outwardly be freaking out but internally he is. He is itching to search you, cuff you, and get your id. They are truly under the dangerous delusion that everyone other than a cop is a criminal who has to prove his/her innocence. One very big reason why these audits, cop watches, etc are so important.

He mustn't consider the secure area to be very secure if he's out being condescending to a member of the public.

It would be hilarious to see super troopers from the states go south of the Rio Grande and play kid games.
