Welcome back to part 3 series on Best Impact Driver bits.
If you haven't seen part 1 or 2, watch it here:

For quality premium impact bits check out the following:
May be a little expensive, but as long as you don't lose them, they will most likely last you a lifetime.

I don't know about you, but I use an impact driver when ever possible. So bits are important when it comes to transferring that power into the fastener.
In this video we are concluding the series in the best impact driver bits.

For the test in part 3, we drove 180 griprite 3 inch PH2 exterior screws into 2x4 landscape lumber, and later proceeded toward torture testing the bits until they failed. Failed bit is either physical breakage, or enough damage for constant cam out.

For the test we used the Dewalt DCF887, Milwaukee Fuel Gen 3 2853, and Makita XDT14 impact drivers.

Bits in the test:
Milwaukee Shockwave Gen 1
Milwaukee Matrix Carbide
Dewalt Maxfit
Makita Gold Impact
Bosch Impact
Wera Impaktor
Wiha terminator

Setup and testing of rigs and etc was done by Irwin Impact bit.

All the screws and bits used in the test were brand new, and purchased with my own funds at my local hardware store. This video was not sponsored and I am not affiliated with any of these companies. I hope this video was helpful, and we'll see you guys.... NEXT TIME!!!

Hey 4thewin. Since your previous video Makita have now replaced their Impact Gold series with a brand new version "Impact XPS". Which is now available cheaply at places like Amazon and home Depot. I highly recommend that you actually make a seperate video specially for these new bits BECAUSE: They are in fact a significant improvement over the previous Gold flagship. For example the new Makita XPS bits for phillips head (PH) are made to Japanese JIS / JCIS standard. Which includes a holdfast function (without magnet). It's really improved product and with good reports on the field. And cheap $$$. But we really are still missing a decent long term durability testing of them. Because they were released only a couple months ago. So if you can wear them out using the same test setup as before! ....then we can make a like for like comparison to these other existing competitor bits. Thank you for considering this matter. It's really worth picking some up for yourself. I think you will be impressed as others are too. They actually also have released many other types of accessories under new "XPS" brand. For example also nutsetters, extensions, adapters, etc. All impact rated. But the best value (to start off) is their "60 piece" XPS bits kit. For about $30 USD approx. Thank you again. For all these long term testing. Across so many brands. Hope you will continue and include this.

I think it would be ineresting to make torture test of all bits using for all the same wera impactor bit holder. It has two tension areas that make bits last longer and it would make comparable testing conditions for all of them. Then one could buy good bit holder and cheaper bits.

Man, you sure put a lot of screws into that wood! I wonder if the wood ended up expanding because of it. So, what are you gonna use the wood for now?

By the way, I noticed from your stats that you screwed 1267 screws in, but only took 1086 back out in this video. So you still have a bit of work to do there! :D

Thanks for this video man. I'm quite impressed with the DeWalt MaxFit bit from what I've seen here, as well as the Wera Impaktor and the Wiha Terminator. I know which bits to look for now. Appreciate it. I also want to say that I like the way you put a lot of work into testing these things properly and that you actually showed it all on screen, and with different tests. Everything was made clear quite well. The music was also a good choice. Even though it kept repeating over and over, I didn't even start noticing it until after 16 minutes or so, and even then it didn't annoy me. Keep up the good work man. Cheers!

You can use that wood to test saw blades now(be very careful doing it tho... Probably sawzall instead of circular unless you have safety setup

Hi, Thanks for the review. Have you come across any slim bit holders which lock on to a wiha double-ended bit? I hear the wiha centrofix works, but I am looking for a narrower alternative.

Nice video! You need to add the PB Swiss bits to your test.

You have made a “marathon run” on all your tool bit reviews... may i just ask how many hours did you spend just to do this part 3 reviews. i would like to make a shout out for your stamina and determination to provide real tool bit to your viewer. You, indeed have “Out Performed” against all these tool bits. Really looking forward to view more of your reviews.

Any chance to try this with the Milwaukee shockwave gen 3 bits? The project farm channel made them look as good as the wiha.

The impact drivers probably interfered with the results, but it still seems like Wera is quality.

Yeah gotta love it. We get fucked every time man thanks for all your time. Only bosch and milwaukee bits last for us. Shattered the best dewalts building a deck in no time, tripped out makita yet milwaukee wear guard is still in the bit case. Anyways keep up the good work now it's time to trash the impacts thru sheetrock an mud dust, concrete dust, dirt stone impact water and way hardcore abuse of the impacts themselves. Dewalt will burn in no time makita will hang in there with milwaukee but with the better and stronger electronics the milwaukee out lasts even hilti 8 times outta 10. Anyone who doesn't agree get a bad unit or is not being honest of real equal abuse or exposure. I left the 2600 class impact in the bed of the new truck by accident when we left for a 2 week vaca way down to atlanta couple yrs ago and we had 6 days heavy rain home I still ran that impact an battery for a year and a half
