BIG BRAKE KIT! Next Modification for My BMW 1M | PROJECT PART 7

I bought the Shmeemobile BMW 1 Series M Coupe last year, it was the cheapest in the country with 94,000 miles on the clock but fortunately not too much hiding under the skin. However, like with my Clio V6, we're going to turn it into something mega and so far that has included a full inspection and service, installing a Droid UK infotainment system, upgrading to a Quaife ATB Differential at Birds and most recently painting the wheels to Neodyme and fitting Michelin PS4S tyres.

Ahead of filming, I've sent off my steering wheel to Royal Steering Wheels for a retrim in Alcantara and orange stitch to match the other interior trim, and also added a 12'o'clock marker in the same shade. Thankfully also, a visit to Evolve has resolved the AC issue it's had in recent times too. However, that's not the primary topic of the day.

The Apollo Series set from EBC Brakes represents a significant step up on the standard brakes of the 1M; with this specific kit available for the E82 as well as the E90/92/93 M3s. Also fitted with braided lines, the full setup gives a firmer and more responsive pedal feel without the onset of brake fade. With a choice of calliper colours, I've opted for Stealth Black behind the gold of the wheels, and a full set of Bluestuff NDX Performance Brake Pads all around. Top tip, if you ever install new brake pads, rub the two pads together like a sand block 10-15 times and bang them together when done. Once you fit them to your car, the brake pads will work instantly and not have any glaze offering fade.

Hurts my eyes as a mechanic, to see another mechanic not cleaning the wheel hub, and especially on BMW who tends to get shaky brakes, due to rust buildup behind the rotor :X

I love the 1m I should have got one before the prices went nuts. It needs a straight pipe, those brakes are awesome.
I love the wheels but the orange and gold looks a bit odd, however I have a feeling it’s getting wrapped
