The MP40 in Less Than 60 Seconds | Battlefield V

Arguably the most iconic SMG to come out of Germany, the MP40 was often called the “Schmeiser” by the Allies, despite Hugo Schmeisser never having anything to do with its design. Overall, the MP40 is fairly underwhelming in BFV, mostly due to its 540 RPM firerate. Although its 32 round magazine is decent, its recoil is very manageable and its hipfire can be tuned to almost best-in-game status, the MP40 struggles to compete against most weapons in the game, and is very easily outshined in almost every category.

When it comes to specialisations, I prefer to run the MP40 with Quick Aim, the Enhanced Grips, the Polished Action and the Custom Stock.

Use the MP40 if you have some burning desire to torture yourself and/or scream “Hail Hydra” as you teabag the few people you manage to kill each game.

Battlefield V is a first-person shooter game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the eleventh main instalment in the Battlefield series and the successor to 2016's Battlefield 1, and was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 20, 2018. On April 23, 2020, it was announced that support for the game would continue until the summer of 2020, when it would receive its last major update (Wikipedia 2022).

I don’t think it’s a bad gun as I find it generally balanced out like the Sten, and I like that both guns act really similar and standardly as both were standard issue weapons that are first unlocks.

It is when you said you used the non recoil mitigating specialisations that I understood why you don’t like the mp40. I find it to be one of the most reliable and fun guns in the game.

I run the 28 with the hip fire specs of course but I do see 40s a lot Iv even lost many gun fights against it.. bfv you got to find the best gum for you personally then spec it for you. One gun might highlight your play style but make another persons a nightmare

I like to maximize the accuracy of the MP40 in ADS, while I keep the STEN as accurate as possible in hipfire.
