In this final episode of the "Last Days of Jesus" in my series, I lay out what I think many believing Christians, Academics, and Skeptics, have missed. Here is a plausible scenario, based on solid archaeological evidence, of what led up to Easter Morning.

For the full evidence on locating Golgotha see:

Based on Dr. Tabor’s seminal idea, see the book “Bible Hill as Golgotha” for more information on another strong contender for Calvary.

At 49:51 Jesus Himself claimed to be not a spirit when He appeared to His disciples. Luke 24:39
“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” More than an apparition.

As Prof. Tabor surely knows, the problem of whether the nails were driven through the wrists or hands arises from the interpretation of the Koine Greek word appearing in the Gospels, 'χεῖρας' (cheiras), which can mean both wrist and hand. Similarly, the term 'σταυρός' (stauros) used to describe the act of crucifixion can refer to a process involving a cross or merely hanging on a upright stake or pole.

Even more puzzling when discussing the crucifixion of Jesus, another term, "xylon" (ξύλον), is used, which translates directly to "wood" or "tree." For instance, in Acts 5:30, 10:39, and 1 Peter 2:24, the crucifixion of Jesus is described using "xylon, " suggesting a wooden object or tree

Another excellent presentation, Professor Tabor, putting together many pieces of what I have read and heard previously in separate sources.

Regarding the excavated Talpiot tomb:
when entered in 1980, there was (I have read) evidence of it having previously been entered, possibly in the Mediaeval/Crudades period;
the ossuaries' contents had been disturbed, and three skulls had been left in three of the chamber's four corners;
the Knights Templar were said to have secretly venerated a skull;
they allegedly called this skull "Caput IV".
Coincidence?

Wait ... did you say "Via della rosa"? (street of the rose) ... I thought it was "via dolorosa" (path of pain).

The circle of the circle and chevron represents a flower. The vast majority of depictions of this architecural symbolism show rosettes in the place of the circle, just as the example you showed. It definitely isn't a wreath. Flowers and other iconography related to life and the tree of life were used on ossuaries, larnakes, and tomb artwork, and all of these floral representations of the concept of life (including the circle and circle-dot) are present in the architectural record from the 3rd millennium bce. To brush this circle off as a wreath betrays a vast gap in knowledge regarding the symbols and iconography used in the objects amd spaces associated with the dead.
