This makes me nostalgic. OMGATOS. I could never afford to live in San Francisco again, but I am a native Californian who most definitely left her heart in San Francisco. You've done a great job here. I will watch this again and again. Thank you! 🙏🏻❤️

Thank you for allowing me to visit so many places my age prevent me from seeing. You always highlight the historical spots as well. You’re not Just another YouTuber. Thanks for the quality content. We appreciate you.

I lived in Chinatown for almost 20 years from the early 80's to the early 2000's. Loved your video. Brought back so many memories. Thanks for that.

I was born and raised in S.F. Lived in North Beach as a child in the mid to late 1960’s. I used to run around Chinatown with my friends when I was a kid. My Dad would take me to Ping Yueng Restaurant and Bakery on Grant and Pacific. Restaurant has been long gone for many years. I’m surprised you did not walk through Portsmouth Square? Fairly close to where you were. Chinatown is still the same after 55+ years. Thank you for the great memories!

Woohoo, a dedicated San Francisco Chinatown video! 😍 I enjoyed seeing the Chinatown Gate, vibrant buildings, hanging lanterns, murals, and local shops. 17:03 I ate at Lucky Creation Vegetarian Restaurant before! 😋 19:22 It's such a treat that you got to sample the fortune cookie and to see the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory! 🥠 35:00 It's so cool to see and learn that Bruce Lee was born at the Chinese Hospital! 😎 Thank you sharing this informative walk through Chinatown, AK! 🤗

Excellent tour of SF Chinatown! I worked in the financial district near Chinatown for years. I used to walk up there on my lunch hour. My parents also used to take us to the Far East Cafe when we were kids. It was magical for us. The lanterns hanging from the ceiling and the curtained booths. It’s sad to see it closed. My Chinese American friend told me it was tourist food but we loved it! Another thing - that old Catholic Church on California and Grant is a historic landmark. Old St Mary’s. It was the old cathedral and survived the 1906 Earthquake. Or at least the walls did! It’s beautiful inside and I used to go up there for noon mass on holy days and the pipe organ would be played.

Nice tour. My connection to San Francisco is My wife and I built the Bush Street Subway in 1993 at Bush and Kearney Streets. Still there as of March 2023. We sold in 1999 and now live in Las Vegas. I learned a lot thank you. I was just there and China Town is suffering. Very Sad.

Thanks for the video. Having grown up in SF and attended Galileo HS in the 70-80's, this video makes me feel nostalgic for what Chinatown was like in the past. You stated that the video was made on May 23rd, 2023, at 11 am, which is on a Tuesday. 40 years ago, if you stood on the corner of Pacific and Grant Street or Pacific and Stockton, it would have been people-mountain-people-sea [人山人海], even on a weekday. Every shop was open for business and packed with locals and tourists. Chinatown then was just magical!

Thanks for taking me back virtually to the SF Chinatown. I lived for a short while on the border of Chinatown, Nob Hill & the Financial District and used to frequent the the Chinatown branch of the SF Library (where I was one of the few non-Asian patrons!).
