KAKU ZULU (OLDTOWN AUTOPILOT KILLER!!) Watch Before you BUY!!

Doing a comparison between the OLD TOWN 120 and the KAKU ZULU. I really like old town products and their warranty is incredible but their prices are outrageous. $5,000 on kayak is insane to me. so im going to show you how to build a autopilot killer for less than half the price!!
the kaku zulu can definetly stand up to the big brand names. but has a much more wallet friendly price tag

Kaku now has the I-Guide version with GPS and spot lock for less than $3500 for those insisting that motor option justifies the Old Town price. Auto Boat GPS can be retrofitted on a variety of lower priced trolling motors for a few hundred bucks as well.

I have several Hobies, including a PA14. I love the PA14 for it's but it was super expensive and heavy as a dump truck! I race endurance races and have placed 2nd in pedal drive on the MR340 which is a 340 mile race (running the discontinued Revo16) but I can honestly say that I'm ready to switch to the Zulu.

I'm comparing the Zulu I-Guide vs the Nucanoe Unlimited or U10 with an Xi3. The Nucanoe is nade in the U.S.A. and has ton of tracks

Nah, this not the AP killer at all. Nice Yak but that spot lock tech is what you pay for. Fully integrated motor its plug and play. Don't have to install or do anything. It's ready to go out of the box. I do like these but I don't think it touch the AP.

I'll stick with my Old Town autopilot. But you are right, there is no comparison. The Old Town series is a much much better kayak. But I guess you have a right to your opinion also.

Old Town made in America vs Kaku made in China you get what you pay for

The secondary stability on that kayak is not nearly as good as a sportsman. You can visibly see that in the chine. That kayak will flip. You will fall out of a sportsman before you flip. Granted that platform is probably way easier to paddle. My sportsman is a tank. But i have had my kayak about 3 miles out the atlantic i would never take that out

My lithium battery burned my kayak and sank me. Had to swim a couple football fields to the shore and walk 2 miles back to my truck. Was only able to save one of rod and reels. Ill never use a lithium in anything ever again.
