Maybe it is me, but I think new age friends of mine are not saying they are Christ. But conscious of his spirit. I feel it depends on each person’s interpretation. Maybe when you were new age that’s what you thought, but I personally feel you can’t know what people think based on verbiage. Good video! Per the Bible, we are not a “part” of God. God is separate and independent of His creation.

God HAS put a part of Himself in each of us, but it is NOT a divine nature or a Christ consciousness. It is a spirit nature. This means we are not only body and soul but also spirit.

The spirit nature of us gives us our moral conscience (which is the Law of God), the ability to commune with God and the rest of the spiritual realm (the good and the bad), and a dim reflection of God’s attributes on Earth (intelligence, creativity, stewardship, love, justice).

The image of God—in NO way—makes us gods or a part of God like leaves on a tree. We do have God’s fingerprints on us, however, we also are fallen in sin and are depraved in mind, body, soul, and spirit.

You CANNOT “TAP INTO” the consciousness. We have just enough in us to recognize our own fallenness and our own depravity, and to repent and accept the gospel.

You MUST believe that Jesus is God and take Him as your Lord and Savior.

YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN.

My six year old daughter was watching this with me and said, "but we can become like Jesus but not by following satan." The Bible says, we must walk as Jesus walked. Jesus says, "greater works than I shall you do". And the Bible says, "add to your faith godliness." The Bible talks about Oneness with the Divine - that's Jesus idea (john 17). Becoming partakers of the Divine Nature (2 Peter 1:4). Being part of Christ - members of his body. Having an anointing (which is the very definition of "Christ") within us that teaches us (1 John 2:27). Is it misleading and fear mongering when we shift the attention away from the real and genuine by only focusing on the counterfeit? There is a mystical union with the Divine (the I AM) that occurs in anyone who does submit to Jesus and receives the free gift of eternal life through being in relationship with him (Jn 17:3). He is the ONLY way to be saved. His very Name means "I AM salvation". (John 14:6)

Why leave out the second half of the verse in Matthew? Here it is: 11 “I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!" - Jesus

So if someone, by receiving Jesus as revealed in the Holy Scriptures (and not some false idea of Jesus), enters the kingdom of God (is born again - see John 3), then we are greater than John the Baptist in that we are experiencing a whole new level of Oneness with I AM by the Spirit of Christ - again this is Jesus idea (see John 17)
