After standing down from launch on Wednesday, May 27, SpaceX is now targeting Saturday, May 30 for Falcon 9’s launch of Crew Dragon’s second demonstration (Demo-2) mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This test flight with NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on board the Dragon spacecraft will return human spaceflight to the United States.

The instantaneous launch window opens at 3:22 p.m. EDT, or 19:22 UTC, with a backup instantaneous launch opportunity available on Sunday, May 31 at 3:00 p.m. EDT, or 19:00 UTC. Tune in here to watch the launch webcast. Coverage will begin about 4 hours before liftoff.

Demo-2 is the final major test for SpaceX’s human spaceflight system to be certified by NASA for operational crew missions to and from the International Space Station. SpaceX is returning human spaceflight to the United States with one of the safest, most advanced systems ever built, and NASA’s Commercial Crew Program is a turning point for America’s future in space exploration that lays the groundwork for future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

It was launching 6:00am my time so I watched this all night. When they rescheduled it I was sad but safety is the number one thing. Thank you for the space x crew who helped out. Cannot wait to see it this weekend again. I’ll be up for the party. Happy to be alive to witness this.

Sir Elon, congratulations to you! I am 64 years old and I saw how the Soviet missiles started and how awkward they are, and yours is just a work of art! I live in Ukraine.

I'm loving the design of the SpaceX crafts, we've seen the same old Nasa interior/exterior designs for decades now, it's refreshing to see a new more aesthetic design.

Even though in the disappointment that was brought for this being delayed due to weather, we must realize that it is in the best interest of all of us to do this *right*.

This new generation will be able to reach new heights. But, in order to turn our hearts to the stars, we can't let our ambition overrule safety. This event brought more than it may seem into the light, that even with an unforeseen amount of pressure from the world, we must tread with extreme caution. No amount of money, exposure, attention, and so on will ever be worth more than human life and safety from bodily harm. And this event showed this perfectly, no exceptions were made. This is the precedence we need for a future of space.

Great job NASA and SpaceX. We are happy to have you moving into the future. Let's step into this future ferociously while maximizing safety for all.

I love the looks of the Space X Launch/Re-entry suits. I would love to see them put different coloured patches on the sholders or chests of the suits for the different astronaughts. Just to make it easy at a glace to see who is who in that white on white capsule.
