I can’t believe Lego dropped the ball in the recent years with Captain Rex’s Y Wing. I was so excited for it to come out!💔 This Y wing is the best though!

This was the first Lego set I bought out of my own pocket money, I was 8 years old. It cost me only £50, 6 months of patiently saving. Took me 9 hours to build including breaks and lunch, mainly because bad coordination and lack of experience with Lego.

I still have this set on my shelf. At some point my younger self (probably 13 ish) decided it was a good idea to replace the CW style ball turret that can't traverse with a OT style remote turret that could traverse. I have the parts to rebuild the old turret and will do soon.

This Y Wing feels solid and weighty. It also looks gorgeous.

Just so you know, that's the incorrect R2 figure. The one in this short is just the basic 2010s version of R2 whereas the actual set came with a specific Clone Wars style R2.

The clone wars R2 was kinda ugly too, the fully grey top piece doesn't work as well as the printed white one
