Benito Juárez: A Short History

Benito Pablo Juárez Garcia was Mexico's 26th President, serving from 1858 to 1872. A judge and liberal reformer, Juárez led the Mexican people through the turbulent eras of the Reform War and the Second French Intervention, and is the only Mexican president to have an annual Mexican national holiday formally proclaimed in his honor. Let's explore!

Some other things named in Juárez's honor include a city in Argentina, a species of snake, and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

I'm an Australian working remote here in Guadalajara... Was trying to work out why everything was so quiet today and then I found out it was a public holiday in Juarez's honour.... So now hanging out with a glass of wine listening to this in the evening. Cheers mate! 🍷

Having lived in mexico for a year, literally every city, has a colonia and a street named after him. It is crazy how much is honored throughout the country.

not sure if you still take requests or suggestions or anything considering how your latest video blew up;

regardless I’d like to request coverage of the Mesoamerican nations of Mexico, particularly the Tlaxcalteca and their crucial role in ancient, Spanish, and modern Mexico.

Also I am partially Tlaxcalteca and can speak a little bit of Nahuatl, so perhaps I’ve got a bit of bias in this sense haha

Congrats on your latest video, and thanks for covering Benito Juárez!

Pretty factual. I love your video for that. Thanks a lot! Have more info on him in New Orleans?

I would love to watch a video about Getúlio Vargas in Brazil! I feel like african, south american and south east asian history are neglected by education channels.
