The most visited ever in spite of corona & a temperature of -8 c

The Best of Copenhagen Light Festival is also a story about how it was possible to arrange a 3-week
light festival in spite of all the corona restrictions in Denmark.

A festival that for many gave hope and renewed spirit.

“Corona'' is the name of the big round art piece on the house for the North Atlantic countries. It shows the corona virus in front of a sun-solaris, symbolizing a period in our time.

A work that people on the busy bicycle bridge could change the colours on from their mobile phone.

Many works were interactive, that allowed people to play and direct the lights.

The festival launched an app that directed people in routes to create distance. Routes to walk, run,
bike or drive.

All art work had to be able to work in down to -8 degrees celsius outside - over 3 weeks.

Popular works were set up along the water channels reflecting in the water and ice. Some works was
it possible to dance a little - again.

Copenhagen Light Festival’s works are all created for the festival. The artists are giving free speech
commenting on our times.

Artists also set up light-art at graveyards and children play-grounds - as a comment to the present
corona situation.

Several works gave a message for hope, dream and science.

The Copenhagen Light Festival will now take place every year in February.
