As someone thats rerolled many games (genshin, TOF, e7, AP, artery gear, HSR, nikke, many more), ive NEVER regretted it looking back. The rolling is part of the fun IMO, like going to the casino to test your luck and really sets the tone of the game.

An experience that may appear extremely polarizing and wtf is my playthrough of TOF. 50+ rerolls taking ~15 mins each, and when i finally settled on an account, i played it for a couple weeks before i jumped to another account collecting passive resources to pull on a limited character then jumped to that account, stopped a couple weeks after but allowed me to play way more characters. NEVER did i think, "man, look at all this time i could be GRINDING and collecting -junk- resources all over the world map or farming world bosses."

Genshin: rerolled to hit a couple big 5 star characters and weapons that allowed me to push the lightly spent account to end game extremely quickly.

Artery gear: rerolled x3 of the same standard 5star character on their banner in a single 10 pull and had a great time playing for a couple months.

HSR: settled with the first couple accounts (mind you, this was the exact genre and art style of game i was waiting for), narrowed to the 2 least crappy accounts. 7/8 LOST 50/50's. I cleared the end game content fine at a slower but steady pace, but man, what a TERRIBLE taste it left in my mouth for a very long time, even quit for half a year before coming back and being reminded what failure accounts i have where the metric is actually being pull positive to some degree.

If the goal is to jump straight into the content, sure. You'll eventually get characters. Youll eventually hit a psuedo wall, requiring more resources or more utility character pulls. You'll eventually get lucky and get a character.

Or you can force lucksack early with pulls and just 'win' early.

For f2p, not rerolling means missing out on pulling for one or more future characters. It means spending resources on a character you might not like or will quickly replace. Rerolling is one time in every gacha game where a f2p player has some amount of control over the outcome of the gacha.

Not worth it, because Yinlin. You’re already getting a free 5-star select. Every hour you waste rerolling for a second early 5-star is an hour you could’ve spent hoarding pulls for Yinlin.

Kuro did the same exact thing with Alpha in PGR. They gave you enough tickets to pity her and her weapon, but only if you started on day one. They know what they’re doing. Don’t reroll.

I'm sorry dude, I get the sentiment but missing a daily/weekly or two is well worth it to get the character that you will be playing for weeks, months or even years.

I rerolled in Genshin but I hated my account after some time as I could always Reroll for newer and better characters and was stuck in the rerolling process until I left the game.

1. I've been playing gachas for many years now, and every time I didn't reroll, I regretted it.
2. I want to start playing with combination of characters I enjoy right away. Waiting for a rerun of a character I really really wanted but didn't reroll for, usually made me burn out and quit. That's because I was forcing myself to play with characters I didn't enjoy, sometimes for months, so the game felt like a chore rather something enjoyable.
3. Few days (or even a weekly reset) worth of lost currency is nothing (it's probably 5 or less pulls lost) in comparison to $300-400 I would lose if I wanted to guarantee a character with money. I started playing HSR last week of 1.6 (so I lost 11-ish months worth of currency lol), and I almost have all the characters I want (waiting for 2 more reruns). Yes, I rerolled, no, I didn't whale (because I rerolled). Because I started with roster of characters I enjoyed, I had pleasant time so far, and waiting for remaining reruns didn't turn the game into a chore. The only thing that stings that I missed out on is the "Before the Tutorial Mission Starts" lightcone. 11-ish months worth of currency loss didn't seem to matter much, so few days loss due to reroll will matter even less. Simply because if I get 2-3 characters I want, that will save me a couple hundred pulls (you don't need to save up hundreds of pulls if you get who you want in first 10-pull by rerolling).
4. HSR had the most excruciating reroll process of all the gachas I rerolled in, and I somehow survived that, so I think I'll survive WuWa as well. I expect WuWa to maybe have similarly bad reroll process, but not worse.

Reasons why ill always reroll, all of this is my personal opinon:
1) Its lots of fun opening up lootboxes.

2) Being 1 or even 3 days behind barely matter in the long run, but your units does matter, everyone(atleast everyone who is F2P) are going to end up with pretty much the same gear and same max level cap anyways, the only power ceiling is what character you have and what echo substats you rolled.

3) Continuing from point 2, the miniscule amounts of resources you are going to miss is nothing compared to the grind you have to do to be able to get those 5 stars later on in the game, you will never spend astrite on standard banner pulls since astrite should only be used for limited event pulls, so you will only be slowly accumulating standard rolls from free rewards from events and missions, which will take absolutely forever for you to hit the pity, and it isnt even guaranteed to be the character you want. The time it takes to farm back the resources you missed from rerolling vs the time it will take to make up for the amount of pulls from not rerolling isnt even comparable.

4) From my experiences playing many different gacha games and always rerolling in them, i start off with a few meta units and its just smooth sailing from there on out, sure i take 1-2 days getting brain rot from doing the same tutorial for 8 hours straight for 2 days but i always gain the maximum reward on weekly and monthly challenges and the game is enjoyable to me that way. Then when i continue to play the game for maybe a year or two, i notice most players still dont have all the meta 5 stars from the standard banner to fully build their teams, so they are at a disadvantage, and every player who played since launch reached max level 2 month after the game released anyways.

-This is all from the perspective of someone who has no life and enjoys min maxing + being optimal, everyones got their own way of enjoying the game. I stayed in top 10 leaderboard in monthly/weekly challenges along with the whales in PGR and blue archive purely from how much time i spent rerolling and grinding the games, only buying monthly pass, and that was enjoyable.

I want Jiyan without wasting a lot of pulls of overworld, so i'm going to reroll. It will take some time, yeah, but i'm not in a rush for other things, i just want my favourite character and dedicate resource to him (his weapon). I had a really bad experience in genshin, loosing 2 50-50 in a row in early game basically wasting about 160 OVERWORLD pulls for characters i don't even use. The grind and resource it's not worth.

A better character to start is better than clearing faster. specially for f2p as they can save for the next banner.

I only reroll if and when the tutorial is not longer than 30mins and if and when there is a „guest account“ option.

No rerolling. I tried it only once for r1999, spent several hours grinding in 6 or 8 threads with BlueStack. Although my first ACC did not have the 'optimal' chars (it was Lilya) - the beginner's luck there was just crazy, I got a lot of good 5*, and in several days both Knight and Sotherby in like 30-40 pulls combined.

The only game i rerolled is genshin and for me it isn't worth much to reroll because in the future, more better characters will be released. The only lesson i learned in all the gacha games i played is only pull the characters you really want including the gameplay.

Rerolling will not matter after a week or so, all characters are good in wuwa,

Don't even need to reroll since I'm saving all the currency for Jinhsi in 1.1. Plus I never like to reroll, seems too sweaty for a game like this.

i thought otherwise because we'll be getting good enough free pulls. more free pulls, more chances of winning.

With the new selector, no way will I reroll in WuWa.

The only reason i want to reroll is because i want verina from the selector but shes not a dps and id prefer starting with one of those thats not just the free ones

I just play with what I get. Don't have the time and energy to reroll

Most of your arguments were against rerolling for a 5*, but i just want to reroll for danjin or taoqi XD
