Voters Want Michelle Obama in Senate

"A new poll has found first lady Michelle Obama would beat Republican Mark Kirk by 11 points in a face-off for his Illinois Senate seat if she were to run.

The first lady has said more than once that she is not interested in running for office, but her answer has varied from "absolutely not" to "probably not" within the same response. Still, her charm and popularity has fans speculating."*

Polls show First Lady Michelle Obama could win an Illinois Senate seat if she ran, according to a new poll. She says she isnn't interested, but would she be good politician? It's been said that she privately pushes President Barack Obama to stick to the progressive campaign promises he made, so is that a good indicator that she would serve constituents well? Or are big family names in politics an institution that needs to die out? Cenk Uygur, Jimmy Dore (The Jimmy Dore Show) and John Iadarola (Host, TYT University) break it down.

As a Hispanic I would love to see Michelle Obama have a role in our congress because I deeply admire her dedication with our social issues with children health risks and clinical awareness...

But as an American I have to say that I would want to see an elected official who actually deserves their job NO MATTER what ethnicity or race they represent.

Because we all know how many of those we have (implied sarcasm).

If they're good at their job then why does it matter who they're related to? Yes, Michelle is very well known but look at what SHE has done. She has been a massive advocate for education, health, and women. She has proven that she is a successful and strong woman who isn't in it just for the publicity or to have people bow to her. I would be all for Michelle as a Senator or Congresswoman.

Being the First Lady means she can immediately run for a national office rather than having to work her way through the state-level offices, as Obama did before taking a spot in the US Senate. She is completely qualified for the US Senate. She is more qualified today for that seat that Obama was for it in 2004.

I think that Michelle Obama in the Senate is a perfectly realistic expectation. She's smart, well educated and doesn't come off as a prima donna like Hilary Clinton.

The most amazing thing that Barry Soetoro has done is to bring the politics of Equatorial Africa to the US! Some of us don't even want Mrs. Soetoro in the USA; much less in the Senate!

First Ladies should get in where they fit in. If it is the only means to break the glass ceiling, then they should use it.

Dubya is a far cry from either Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama. Both ladies are probably far smarter than their husbands. I think they are less likely to give on a principle too.

In defence of that notion, when you are in politics, chances are good that your policy positions are gonna be similar

Then don't watch a video with her name in it.

"The Distinguished Gentleman" was made almost 20 years ago and deals with practically everything you guys talked about here. Name recognition can get anyone elected.

i have read his books, autobiography, other books written about him negatively and positivity. he is a good, honest man! a great leader. i am proud to have him as our nations president following our founding fathers legacy and foundation. tho he really reminds me of FDR or LINCOLN. both very similar. also a little like Andrew Jackson.

More like her standing there with her pocketbook open saying "How much did we make today?" Obama seemed like a reasonable person.

There is the whole married to Obama who violates the constitution problem though. She would have very difficult questions to ask about torture and drone strikes and the NDAA. Best we don't have her in any politics after 2016. Of course we have hardly any real journalism left in America so maybe those questions would never be asked in the first place.

I don't see how that bears any relevance to the topic but if you want to throw ignorant insults at someone you don't know then fine.

Unlike Hillary I don't think Michelle has a background in law, so not sure what people who are fans of her would expect outside of a ton of lip service.

And ontop of what I already said, TYT posted a video of how they banned "Packed Lunch" in a school, in chicago because the packed food could be "unhealthy"

as for me being a tool of Obama, I'm actually a policy analyst and researcher with EconomyinCrisis . org ... you are welcome to review my four-year publishing history to see just where my viewpoints differ and agree with Barack Obama.

Michelle seems like the type who wears the same pants each day and stinks up the office.
