This was one of my few really good childhood memories. Even now I get transported back to 1997 when I hear that sound. Mom smacked us kids around a lot so I don't have a ton of great memories. But I remember saving up for a game and riding my bike down to Target to buy it. Then frantically tearing open the plastic and hearing this sound. Especially on a Friday night when I could play super late. My brothers and I all shared a room. On Christmas Eve we would play games all night because we couldn't sleep. We would take turns playing while the others would watch from the bunk bed. It was almost as fun to watch my brothers play the game as it was to play it myself. Sometimes I come to this video just to get taken back to that time in short, 16 second intervals.
