I just found these incredible artists. Their names are Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Rihanna. I wish more people knew about them...

I'd also check out the youtube channels: Deep Cuts, Buffalo Staple, Notrealmusic, Myke C-Town, Liamthemusicreviewer, Rick The Lai and Zach Minyard for great reviews

I have found new artists by looking at the record label artists I like belong to. For example I like Lorn's music, and I looked at what labels he was signed to. The music from him I liked the most was released under Ninja Tune (Lorn switched labels since then) and through that I found Bonobo, Forest Swords and Amon Tobin. They all make trip-hop/downtempo ethereal ambient style music. Labels tend to have similar artists stylistically speaking so it is a good idea to look up the artist's label, even their past labels and especially if it's a more obscure/independent label. This only applies to if an artist has signed with a label at all and won't always work with independent artists or artists that made their own label.

I just follow channels like thelazylazyme, the worst taste, and david dean burkhart. They post everyday and I just listen to the songs with album covers or names that interest me. I’ve found a lot of gems this way.

2 of my favorite ways to find new music are Deep Cuts, and Spotify.

Deep cuts is an amazing yt channel that covers all sorts of genres and I usually go to him when I want to get into a new genre, for example his top 5 records to get you into jazz, really helped me get into that genre of music since I had no clue where to start.

And I'm so thankful for the Spotify autoplay feature, every time an album ends it just plays me something similar from another artist. I've discovered countless bands this way like Deftones, Daughters, ISIS, Dean Blunt, Slint, The Smashing Pumpkins, and currently my personal favorite Skeletons and Sidewalks. So many genres and sounds I never knew could exist and could bring new emotions from me.

And of course the best way is to just watch as many videos talking about music, bands, artists etc.

This not only helps me finding new artists, but also finding new methods and places to take in mind when posting or wanting my music to reach greater audiences

That last part is so spot on. I remember this friend of mine from high school, back then I know very little about indie stuff. I used to ask him about new recommendations. It's a shame now we're both don't talk anymore, he's too busy to talk or meet me again.

my favorite discovery of music is when i like a certain band and then i try to find more bands with the same sound and then i just fall deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of music discovery. i have soooo much pending songs/albums i have to listen to and they never stop coming.

I love hip-hop. Kanye is my favorite artist. I saw a video of his samples and heard Blood On The Leaves, I just played a radio from it in Spotify and I discovered jazz, which is now one of my favorite genres, so that might also be a good idea

Subreddits like r/HipHopHeads keep me up to date with everything in the genre, from the underground stuff, the classics, to the new releases, with tons of relevant discussions and opportunities to ask for recommendations within a given genre or style.

There’s an app called Hype Machine. You can find new music and you can even blog about it. But if you’re not willing to get premium you can simply scroll through and listen to and like/favorite songs. I’ve had a pretty good user experience although I don’t pay for subscription

There's also the spotify "fans also like" feature. Find your favorite band on spotify, and go to the fans also like page, and browse the artists there. I found my favorite artist, Alex Vargas, through this method.
