A huge thanks to Travis and HVD for lending this watch to the channel. You can find the Kickstarter here:

I'm a little late to the party with this one, as there are only a few days left on the Kickstarter. Yet here we are with a review of the HVD SpecterDiver. A very vintage-like mechanical diver. Complete with hand-winding movement, polymer crystal, and a gorgeous textured dial. All powered by a Selitta SW210-1.

Note: Some of the links above are affiliate links, I am an Amazon affiliate so I would earn a small commission on qualified purchases. But most of the time Amazon is just the best source to link something just to get a look. I always encourage you to shop around and find the best price.

In Addition, I'm also an affiliate with AVI-8, Armilla, Aliexpress, Spinnaker, eBay, Jomashop, Meranom, and Phoibos.

Selita SWs are notorious for the threads going after hand winding. So much so that I know plenty that prefer to shake the watch to get it going rather than hand wind. So good luck to those that pick this up.

I barely started to watch the video and already I love the looks of this piece. Now on to the rest of your review……..

Great review as always. I really like the look of this piece. The dial and hands are beautiful. You got some really nice shots through that crystal. Bravo!

I just picked one of these up. Your videography of this watch make it look so attractive,
however, in person, it is even more beautiful. Yes, hand wound and Plexi are negatives,
but if those quirks are the price of admission for something gorgeous and different in
my collection, I'll pay. Thanks for the review.

I agree with you about old radium being overused. Everywhere you look somebody is using it. Sometimes on watches where it is out of place. However, on this piece; everything seems to be well done. Those applied indices are definitely applied. Very tall looking in the macro shots. Well done, Shane.

These are really superb reviews. Best videos with great presentations of watches. I can't understand how you have just 27K subscribers. Oh, I get it. Start every video with or "Let's get down to business". It will skyrocket subscriptions. Who cares about the real substance these

I've always wanted a mechanical watch. The ritual of winding it every day could be tedious, but my other hobby is fountain pens so I'm used to technology that's strictly inferior and more fiddly than the standard offerings. The only thing left is to get into vinyl, and then my hipster trifecta will be complete.

As for the design itself I like it, but I kind of wish you could just get the mechanical movement in an RZE. The marriage of those two would be very interesting to me.

Thanks for the great review again.

I personally love the vintage look, so this is right up my street. I particularly like the look of the green dial version.

This is the answer to the question "what would a Swiss high beat Amphibia look like". For 4x the price I'm not nearly as impressed as the backers apparently are.

A beautifully designed and detailed watch. In a different league to Vostok. Thanks for the review.

I like the look of this watch a lot and for me the only real issue I see is the possibility of little options for switching bracelet to straps as this could be a strap eating monster!! As for the mechanical movement I personally would rather have an auto but it is kind of cool too. Great review Shane. Thanks 👍

For the purposes of using alternative straps would this one be benefitted by using curved spring bars? My Seiko Flightmaster has similarly unfortunately-placed lug holes. Curved spring bars aided greatly in swapping in aftermarket options.

I signed up for one in Moonstone. I debated the emerald, but that seemed less versatile, and therefore I would wear it less. I hope the finishing is as good as I expect.

Great review as always. I have been in and out of their Kickstarter twice. I like the look of the watch and was happy they are changing the endlinks to female, but the heavy logo really bothers me and I couldn't get passed it.

The Christopher Ward C65 Trident Diver is a mechanical diver but I don't think they make it any more, used they are about the same as this so a good alternative, I'm loving mine & just over 11mm thick.

Nice watch and if the watch is like RZE, then it will be great (got the Resolute White). Sadly the date version is missing (SW215-1 which I got in my Stowa Flieger Klassik 40), so nothing for me! Great review!

Really nice watch! I'd definitely prefer an automatic movement, though, and I would prefer to have more options in replacing the bracelet. The dial, though, is a winner, and looks great with that crystal. I predict a very successful run! Thank you for another great review!
